What do we want from our protectors?
Most citizens want to live in a mature, healthy society which follows a Rule of Law that is:
We want to be able to trust and depend on law enforcement—whether it be our neighborhood cop, our First Responders, or our national security and intelligence agencies.
Society has a need for an array of protectors: local sheriff, US Marshal, police detectives, prison wardens, dispatchers, National Guard, Coast Guard, State Trooper, FBI Investigator—as well as others who are in charge of the bodily safety and wellbeing of our fellow citizens, our loved ones, and ourselves, such as: nursing home attendants, school guards, detention home monitors, and so on.
We want to feel safe and confident that our protectors:
We want them to care about our well-being. We want them to help during natural disasters or national crises.
We want their vow "to serve and protect" to be sincere in intent and practice.
Unfortunately, we are in a very far from ideal society with countless examples of injustice and brutality
